Mature Students
For the academic year 2013/14, UL will continue to offer 40 entrance scholarships to incoming undergraduate students, to the value of €2,000 to mark the occasion of our 40th year. Students are selected on the basis of their performance in the Leaving Certificate, determined by their CAO points. All CAO applicants will be automatically included in the selection process, provided they have not received any other entrance scholarship from the University of Limerick. An additional 4 entrance scholarships are available to mature students (students must be 23 years of age on the 1st January 2013), and are awarded based on academic performance in Year 1 of their studies at UL.
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences welcomes applications from mature students. A mature student is at least 23 years of age on 1 January of the year of entry or re-entry to a programme. Mature students are accepted to UL on the basis of application and interview. Interviews are normally held in May of each year. Previous educational qualifications are not relevant.
